Someone once said that good prose is poetry. They were never more right. To draw a clear distinction between prose and poetry is to disregard centuries of studies of literature. The beauty of literature and much of the humanities is that nothing is black and white—everything blurs into each other. So take your genres and dilute them with each other. Blend some alliteration and rhyme into your prose or your fiction piece and see what a difference it makes in terms of quality and read-ability.
