This book has a catchy title but don't let that fool you. There is a lot of good information in this book that all of us women entering into our middle age years need to know there is a lot in here that I wasn't aware of that I need to look forward to, and things that I need to prepare for.
'See ya later, Ovulator' is a nonfiction Medical Nutrition book about Menopause and how to handle it. This is an educational and informative book. There are not many books around in the sense that provides this much content about the matter, and so for this reason, I found it very useful and enjoyable to read.
Ladies, this is a must read! I have been working with Esther for the past few years and this book just summarizes how knowledgeable she is. From the moment you start reading this book, Esther's wit and intelligence is so inviting into learning about a difficult subject. I have been dreading the word menopause, but after reading See Ya Later, Ovulator I feel that I have a much greater understanding of the changes that my body will be going through in the years to come. I love the quote about the 40's muffin top and the facts that Esther includes to help me why my body has changed over the years. Esther offers nutritional insight as well as advice on how to advocate for your body. I feel so empowered after reading this book and I'm so grateful for this book.
This book has so much practical advice to help with menopause! Definitely recommend this for all women experiencing peri menopause or menopause.
Esther does a brilliant job at pulling the curtain back on the often taboo subject of peri-menopause and menopause. While traditional practitioners paint a very bleak picture of what this time in a woman's life will be like, Esther show shows us that this doesn't need to be the case! With research backed content, she shows women how we've gotten to where we are, what different paths forward can look like, and how to find a supportive practitioner to support you through this phase! Bravo, Esther for giving optimism and empowerment to so many women!!
I'm in my late 40"s and the dread of menopause is looming...what do I need to know? How can I prepare? Esther is truly the perfect menopause fairy who breaks it down and ushers me into this phase of life with more excitement than dread. I'm so grateful I got this book before my body changes! Esther is incredibly smart, witty and honest. A true advocate for women around the globe.
I have read all of Esther’s books and “See Ya Later, Ovulator” has personally been the most helpful and thorough. Esther’s voice is always honest, direct, and informative – and at times quite funny and always relatable. She addresses taboo subjects and reminds the reader to self-advocate when it comes to your health, especially with regard to the often taboo topic of menopause. Her sincere passion to help other women and her seemingly endless wealth of knowledge about menopause, hormones, and women’s health in general, all come through in this easy to read book..
Great book on what every women should be doing in this phase of life.
This book is a must read for all women and especially those in their 40’s and 50’s. It’s have never connected the changes in my sleep, weight, and elevated blood pressure & cholesterol to menopause. Doctors just don’t wanted to give me prescriptions and tell me that I would have to take them for the rest of my life. After experiencing bad side effects I started researching on my own about how to improve my health without prescription drugs. It is as great to find this resource and hear other women’s stories.
It's impossible to get through even one paragraph in this book without identifying with a symptom, a feeling, a long-held (and wrong) belief, or a revelation about new information that Esther Blum highlights. She is truly knowledgeable about the topic and doesn't leave anything out. She is gifted at explaining how the female body works in understandable terms, which makes taking her suggestions easier to employ. And, as an added bonus, her tone throughout the book is a careful balance of complete empathy and championing women's health in this area, all without a hint of judgment or gaslighting, as she promises.
So this book just arrived! Literally still cold from sitting in the mailbox and I am devouring it! Esther makes it easy to read. Easy to understand and you can start making positive health changes NOW! Easily! Brilliant book for women starting perimenopause and menopause! This is going to help so many women who have been dismissed by their Dr.’s who say “Everything looks normal it’s just menopause.” Thank you Esther Blum!
